Jacqueline only pursued her art career fully in 2018 after falling in love with muralism during her first public art intervention in 2016. Ranked 35 globally in Jan 2023 with her mural The Language of Flowers, Jacqueline is the first Portuguese woman to be in the worlds top 100 muralists.
Her work is represented in both private and public international collections with over 100 private and public medium-large scale murals under her belt, as well as various sell out solo shows.
Her art has also been used in social initiatives in Belgium, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, CostaRica, Romania, Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau.
Jacqueline's artwork is nature and figurative themed, where the two often fuse as one, creating a harmony between people and our natural world. An avidstory teller, Jacqueline is inspired by the cultural heritage of her location, local tales, people and symbols. She also uses the symbology of flowers (Floriography) whilst incorporating fauna and flora into her work.
Jacqueline’s work often has social awareness angles which she is passionate about, due to her previous career as director of a human rights NGO specialising in women's and children's rights.
Her signature style is her unique use of classical gilding in an urban context (gold, silver & copperleaf/foil) which literally glows throughout the day and illuminates at night with the light of the moon or streetlights. The metal leaf lasts for up to 5 years outdoors. Jacqueline also works with a monochromatic or a limited colour palette which creates a calming effect on the viewer.
The artist uses a minimal amount of paint in her work, often using only pigments, which creates the same effects as watercolours. This style of painting is sustainable whilst keeping the carbon footprint of her artistic interventions to a minimum.
