SASHA SIME

Born in 1982 in southern Russia, studied information design at the University of Culture and Arts and media art at the Pro-Arte Institute. In 2011 moved to Barcelona.

Sasha is drawing influence from Abstract Expressionism and Arté Povera, evolving his work toward minimalism with monochromatic surfaces and geometric shapes.

Sasha lives and works between Calella de Palafrugell (Girona) and Barcelona, Spain. His recent work focuses on the integration of AI, creative coding, and prompt-based poetry, exploring how these tools can be used to generate new forms of artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from philosophy, cognitive science and neurobiology, he sees AI as a partner in exploring alternative ways of thinking and creating.

In his works, he blends minimalist aesthetics with a deeper investigation into the interaction between physical materials and generative processes. By merging analog methods with digital technologies, he creates works that reflect on time, memory, and transformation. Rather than focusing on grand statements, his practice remains centered on curiosity and experimentation, seeking to understand how art can emerge from the interaction between human and machine.
